A Minute with Mandy

My big news of the month has been my son leaving for a fabulous adventure down under in Perth.

Australia's Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program allows young adults (typically 18 to 35 years old) from eligible countries to live, work and travel in Australia for up to 3 years.  The initial stay is for 12 months but extensions are available subject to obtaining a Second and Third Working Holiday Visa.

We are lucky having family for him to stay with on his initial arrival and no better tour guides than people who live there.

If this is something you or your son/daughter have always wanted to do or are thinking about it and want to know more then please get in touch for more advice and information.

There seems to be a bit of a swing in what holiday makers are asking me for lately.  Lots more interest in bespoke packages and self drive itineries further afield.  USA is always popular for self drive and Thailand is also a big hit this year. Fully guided tours are also really popular with Japan and Borneo top of the list.

Christmas city breaks enquiries are also starting to come in.

Latest travel brief.....

A fresh report from Citizens Advice highlights that 34% of package holiday makers faced issues last year - primarily tied to unannounced hotel changes or inaccurate descriptions on all-inclusive deals.

Due to fears of international transit disruptions and soaring ticket prices, bookings for domestic staycations (such as UK holiday parks) are up 20% on last year.

Always double check your passport expiration dates - people are still getting turned away for not having the correct time left before expiry.
